As far as left-field indie-rap origin stories go, you'd be hard pressed to find a more important document from the underground scene at the turn of the century than 1999's "The Taste of Rain... Why Kneel".

The only LP from DEEP PUDDLE DYNAMICS features ALIAS, DOSE ONE, SLUG & SOLE early in their careers, backed by soon to be legendary beatmakers ANT, DJ ABILITIES, DJ MAYO, JEL, MR. DIBBS & MOODSWING9.

It's therefore not surprising the record has long been considered a sought-after classic by many. Vinyl has been out of print for years, and selling for exorbitant prices on Discogs.

Going forward, the rights holders have agreed to donate all future proceeds from the album to the family of Brendan "Alias" Whitney, enabling the possibility of re-issues like this for the first time.

This double LP will be pressed on royal blue vinyl, and feature a full color printed insert adapted from the original album art.

100% of proceeds from BC purchases and pledges to this vinyl campaign will go to the Whitney Family. Any additional vinyl produced will be for sale in 2022 through Strange Famous Records, and continue to benefit the Whitney family.
